Glacier General Store and Cabins celebrates Earth Day

What a day in Glacier for Earth day! Blue skies all around and nature beaming with spring! We took the day off and hiked from Lake McDonald Lodge to Avalanche Gorge to celebrate Earth Day, the temp was brisk but the mountains with a fresh coat of snow were glorious.
The Sun Road is clear and dry all the way past Avalanche so no snowshoes are needed! The waterfalls are moving well but are still awaiting that big spring snowmelt from the upper elevations. We admired the vertical peaks carved by the Glaciers of old, and stood in awe to the beauty of Glacier and the earth.
We seen  bear scat and prints but no actual sightings today. A swan was sunbathing on the banks of  McDonald Creek by the second set of waterfalls and moose tracks were seen throughout the hike.
Our cabins and accommodations have been awarded the Greenleader award by Trip Advisor and we thank our past guests for their efforts in keeping our earth green! We have proven that without compromising quality of stays for our guests we can be green and do our part for our environment. On this day we celebrate the great planet in which we reside we hope others will follow to improve their green practices and we all do our part for all to enjoy!
Don't forget to view the Meteor Shower that is suppose to peak this evening. Almost like natures own environmentally sensitive fireworks!
Have a wonderful day and enjoy all of life!

Fish creek Area/ Camas Road is Open In Glacier Park

The Camas Road is open, dry and clear from the Apgar area to the North Fork Road. What a stunning view from the Huckleberry lookout trail into the Snowcapped Glacier Skyline. It is still there for all to enjoy of course, but we got some great pictures of it with the mountains in the background. See them on our facebook: Glacier General Store and Cabins
